Opening Ceremony
18:30 - 20:00 hrs.

The opening ceremony of WOC2016 will be held in Salon Guadalajara at ExpoGuadalajara where you will have a taste of the Mexican Folklore and the traditional Mariachi alternating with the awards ceremonies, the welcome addresses and a video of the history of Ophthalmology

Opening Reception
20:00 - 21:30 hrs.

At the end of the opening ceremony everybody is invited to attend the opening reception where Mexican food and beverages will be served.

Saturday 6th

Mariachi Gala
Teatro Degollado
19:30 hrs.

The Mariachi Gala will be presented at Teatro Degollado which is a neoclassical Mexican theater known for its diverse perfomances and artistic design. It is located in the central plaza of Guadalajara. 

In the Mariachi Gala, the best Mariachi of the world are accompanied by the Philharmonic Orquestra, creating a fusion between the traditional Mexican music and the classical music of a Philharmonic Orquesta.

Sunday 7th

Mexican Kermesse (Cultural night)
Instituto Cultural Cabañas
19:00 hrs.

The Mexican cultural night will take place at Centro Cultural Cabañas, a World Heritage site, one of the oldest and largest hospital complexes in the Americas. The highlight of the interior decoration is a series of monumental frescoes by José Clemente Orozco, including one of his most famous creations, The Man of Fire.

The main theme of this night is a Mexican Kermesse, where you will find different kinds of typical Mexican food as well as games such as lottery, marbles, and hoops. You will also find different Mexican music, other than Mariachi.

Food, beverage and games are included in the entrance fee.

The history of the rebozo, the skin of Mexico

Lupita takes us through a historical tour, from the very origins of it to the arrival of Spaniards, to the cultural shock and its impact on its uses and customs, as well as a description of similar piees in other cultures such as Spain, India and China. Showing us 101 ways of fashionably wearing a rebozo.

From the Love to a Rebozo an Enterprise is born.
All through the conference it is shown how the Rebozo has and has a great influence in Lupita´s life, to the point of being the head of a company that generates lots of work for others.
